James Brian Earnest, 51, of Fort Mill, SC went to be with his Lord on March 16, 2014 at his home. He was surrounded by his family. Brian was born on March 2, 1963 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the son of James Archuletta and Georgia Zabalveitia Earnest, and the stepson of Lincoln Earnest. Mr. Earnest was a Senior Integrated Systems Manager at Tyco Integrated Security. He enjoyed thirty-one years in the physical and electronic banking security industry. Mr. Earnest was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church of Fort Mill. In addition to his career in the security services, Brian also took pride in coaching his sons in recreational soccer, participating in the YMCA Indian Guides program, watching his sons perform on stage in church, high school, and college productions, and going to movies with family and friends. He also enjoyed serving others through involvement with Habitat for Humanity and the South Carolina Salkehatchie summer build projects, as well as the Kairos Prison Ministry, all in association with his local church. Mr. Earnest is survived by his wife, Deena of 32 years; two sons, Alexander, 21, and Austin, 20; his parents and maternal grandmother, Rebecca Nixon. Brian is also survived by four sisters, Rebecca Christine Shetler, Connie Lynn Andrew, Rita Celeste Luebbers, and Rachel Charlene Earnest, and a brother, Lincoln L Earnest. He leaves behind many precious nieces and nephews. Services will be held in Port Byron, Illinois on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, 202 Main Street. Visitation will be at 9:30 am and the funeral service will follow at 11 am. Pastor Shawn Karns will officiate. A graveside service will be held at Fairfield Cemetery where Brian will be laid to rest with many family members. A luncheon reception will be held at 12:30 pm at First United Methodist Church of Port Byron. A Celebration of Life service will also be held Saturday, March 29,, 2014 from 10:00 am until noon at Philadelphia United Methodist Church in Ft. Mill, SC. Pastor Kevin Cooley will officiate, refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice & Community Care at P.O. Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
