James Gary Gibson, Sr

James "Chub" Gary Gibson, Sr, age 61, of York, SC passed away at home Saturday, February 20, 2016. He was born to the late William Creed and Blanche Walker Gibson, on May 30, 1954, in Cleveland TN.

Survivors include his wife Rita Gibson, two sons James Gary Gibson, Jr and Shane Lamar Gibson of Gastonia, NC; one daughter Summer Bolt of Gastonia, NC; one step-son Jason Nivens of Smyrna, SC; and three step-daughters Katie Knight of Clover, SC; Junie Nivens of York, SC; and Lori Hoover of Collierville, TN. He is also survived by one brother Billy Gibson of Clover, SC and one sister Betty Jean Riggsbee of Gastonia, NC. Mr. Gibson has twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and very special granddaughter Abigail Nivens.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 27, 2016 followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm at Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Larry Nivens and Mr. Billy Burris will be officiating the service.
