James Edward Gray

James Edward Gray, 57, of 1823 Suttonspring Road, passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 at Piedmont Medical Center. Surviving are his wife Roxie Harrison Gray; two sons James R. Gray and James Allen Gray both of York, a brother Ralph Gray of Raleigh, NC, sister Dorothy Devalleo of Rock Hill and one grandson and several other relatives. Mr. Gray was born in Waynesville, NC June 4, 1951, a son of the late Frank Edward and Effie Brown Gray. He was a retired mechanic and retired from the National Guard as a Sgt. 1st Class after 27 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 am Saturday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home and other times at their residence. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Gray will be held Saturday at 12:00 pm at Forest Hills Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Trantam officiating.
