Clover - MSGT. James Morrow Herndon, Jr., 73, passed into the arms of Jesus on Friday, March 01, 2013.
Graveside services will 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
Mr. Herndon was a retired MSGT with the US Air Force. He was a great patriot who loved his county and supported the military. He was a supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project. He will be remembered as a man who loved God, music, and his classic cars. He was a protective husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife, Marlene Slayter; two sons, Dr. Jeffrey Charles Herndon (Cindy) and James "Jimmy" Morrow Herndon III (Danielle) ; a step son, Brent Slayter; a step-daughter, Monesa Baker (Dean); 8 grandchildren, Ariana Herndon, Jacob Herndon, Tanner Herndon, Mya Herndon, Talya Herndon, Lemanda Slayter, Danielle Belknap; and Bobby Dean Baker III; an adopted granddaughter, Lauren Evans; and 5 great-grandchildren; Corbin Belknap, Raven Belknap, Alex Belknap, Oliver Belknap; and Madisyn Pelletier. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Mollye Mae and Buddy Boy.
