James Truman Hollis, passed away, Monday, March 2, 2009 at Chester Regional Medical Center. A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Hollis was born November 11, 1943 a son of the late Cecil and Louise Jonas Hollis. He was a former employee of the S.C. State Employee Commission in job placement and a U. S. Navy Vietnam Veteran. Mr. Hollis played with the Emerald's and numerous bands across the Carolinas. Surviving are his wife Patricia Waldrop Hollis; a step-son Jackie Feemster of Kentucky; a step-daughter Anna F. Harrison of Rock Hill; a son Rod Hollis; a brother William Hollis of Rock Hill and three grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm Wednesday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Hollis will be held Thursday at 1:00pm at Bethesda Presbyterian Church cemetery with Reverend Daniel Smoak officiating with military honors to follow.
