James Wylie Lesslie Iii

James Wylie Lesslie, III, 82, of Matthews, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Born in Rock Hill, SC, Mr. Lesslie was the son of the late Sara and James W. Lesslie, Jr. He received his Bachelors in Architecture from Clemson University and his PhD in Adult Education from U.S.C. Mr. Lesslie served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Odell & Associates for many years and was the director of the Architectural Department at CPCC. Mr. Lesslie was a life-long member of the A.R.P. Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Laurie Lesslie. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Paskan Lesslie; 3 daughters, Laurie Lanford, Beth Carter, and Shannon Watson; 2 sons, Lee Lesslie and John Solomon; a sister, Jean Blakely; 7 grandchildren, Justin, Kelsey, Kerry, Solomon, Montgomery, Nathan, and Kayleigh; and 2 great-grandchildren, Isabella and Lukas. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Lesslie will be held 2pm Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Neely's Creek A.R.P. Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1-2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Craniofacial Children Foundation, 1719 South Blvd. Suite B Charlotte, NC 28203, or to the charity of one's choice. The family would like to express their thanks to Doctors David Matthews and Charles Ferree and the Hospice staff at Novant Presbyterian Matthews.
