James Clifford Long, Sr.

James “Jim” Clifford Long, Sr. , 71, of York, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 19, 2018 at home. He was born August 7, 1946 in Charlotte, NC, son of the late Clifford Todd and Frances Amanda Hunley Long.

Jim retired from Siemen’s Energy after 45 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed time spent gardening and woodworking. Jim was a faithful member of Greater Life Ministries in Clover. Most important to him was his family and he will be deeply missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 50 years, Kathryn “Kay” Long; son, James “Jim” C. Long, Jr. (Lauren) of Mount Holly and Matthew W. Long (Dana) of Charlotte; daughter, Amanda L. Morin (Derrick) of York; seven grandchildren, Morgan, Taylor, Matthew, Jacob, JT, Josh and Joe; brothers, Charles Long (Ginny) of Lincolnton, NC and Neal Long of Claremont, NC; niece, Susan Shenk (Brian) of Charlotte and her two daughters.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM at Greater Life Ministries in Clover, SC. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM at the church. Burial will be privately held at Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte.
