Lancaster - Mr. James Michael McClain, of 7698 Van Wyck Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at his home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Indian Land Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A native of Monroe, NC, Mr. McClain was a son of the late Joe Paul McClain and Betty Hood McClain. He will be remembered as a man who loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was hit by a train in 1974 and survived to the amazement of all of his doctors. He loved to read his Bible and knew it from cover to cover. He touched the lives all the people he came in contact with over the years.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Whiting McClain; two sons, Shane McClain and Phillip McClain; two daughters, Dana King and Casey McClain; a brother, David McClain, four sisters, Betty Joe Howie, Doris Rape, Paula Worley and Pam Helms; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary McClain.
