James Harvey Mcswain

Mr. James “Jim” Harvey McSwain age 84 of Rock Hill, SC passed away peacefully at Wellmore of Tega Cay, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.  Mr. McSwain was born December 26, 1938, in Rock Hill, SC to the late Odis Hubert McSwain and the late Mary McClintock McSwain.

After graduating Rock Hill High School in 1957, Mr. McSwain enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Ranger aircraft carrier.  After an honorable discharge from the navy, he then went on to work for Zellweger Uster for 35 years rising from install and repairman to head of New Products Division in Charlotte, NC.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife Judith of 58 years and his daughter Deborah McSwain Wise (Ray) of Chester, SC.  Mr. McSwain is survived by his son Brian Patrick McSwain (Berry) of Cornelius, NC, his son Alan Wesley McSwain (Amy) of Rock Hill, SC, and five grandchildren.  A graveside service will be held Friday, December 22, 2023, at 11:00 am at the El Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Fort Lawn, SC.   A viewing will be held 30 minutes prior to the service (10:30) in the church sanctuary where the family will receive friends.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of York County and/or El Bethel United Methodist Church.
