James Phillip Brown age 71, passed away Tuesday November 2, 2021. He was born October 13, 1950 in Rock Hill, SC. to the late James Bartow Brown and Ruby Lee Robinson Brown.
Known by his close friends as J.P. Brown. He served in the U.S. Navy, stationed on the USS Independence, He worked in the ordinance department loading missiles and bomd onto F-4 Phantom Jets. He earned a degree in design Engineering from York Technical College and worked for Duke Power as a Mechanical Engineer. J.P. had many talents. He used his design skills to create and build remote controlled airplanes. He was also a very talented musician enjoying a Hammond B-3 Organ, Leslie Tone Cabinets, a variety of electric piano models, and playing the trumpet. During his teenage years, he played in a band called Merging Traffic" located in Aiken SC.
Survivors include one sister: Debra Diane Brown Kozlovich and husband David of Lincolnton.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm Monday at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.
