James William Rainer

James W. Rainer was born on May 5, 1943 in York, South Carolina to Mother, Margaret Rainer, and Father, James Pressley Rainer Jr. He departed this life on Thursday, June 30, 2022.

James graduated from York Comprehensive High School in 1962. He served in the Army and National Guard. James was an avid golfer and fisherman. James was a good Christian man and loved his church friends. He enjoyed spending time with family. He worked at General Tire as a tire inspector for over 30 years.

James married Cathy Rainer on June 8, 1969.

James is survived by his wife Cathy Rainer; their two daughters, Tammy Holcomb (Kenny) and Paige Collins (Junior); and their grandchildren, Matthew Holcomb (Gabrielle) and Will Holcomb (Samantha) and Mallory Collins; and a host of nieces and nephews.

James is preceded in death by his sister, Margaret “Christine” Sanders.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hopewell Presbyterian Church and Hospice & Community Care.

The Family will receive friends the evening of July2, 2022 at their home: 764 Cammie Jordan Lane, Rock Hill.

Sunday, July 3rd: Family will receive guests at 2:00 pm. Services begin at 3:00 pm.
