James Nelson Seefried, 68, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, passed away in his home on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Born in Lockport, New York, on September 28, 1944, he was the son of the late Leo Bernard and Bertha Randolph Seefried of Bradenton, FL. After graduation in 1962 from DeSales High School in Lockport, NY, James served his country during the Vietnam Era from 1963-1965 in the Army. He graduated from Monroe Community College in 1972 (Rochester, NY) with an A.S. degree in Liberal Arts. In 1994 after twenty-six years of service, James retired from Site Management at the Eastman Kodak Co., in Rochester, NY. In 1997 he moved to Fort Mill, SC and made his lifelong hobby of carpentry a second career in 1998 by establishing JNS Carpentry. In 2010 he retired for a second time to spend more time building boats, canoeing, fishing, and enjoying time with his family and friends. In addition to his mother, James is survived by: his wife of 42 years Kathleen (Cannan), his daughters Trina (Stuart) Holley of Rock Hill, SC; Korrena (Ian) Caspersson of Bloomfield, NY; and Jamesella (Ryan) Berberich of Richmond, VA. He was the brother of Rosie Corrigan of Sarasota, FL; Nancy Speranza of Lockport, NY, Ben (Joan) Seefried of Orlando, FL and Linda (David) Root of Margate, FL. He is also survived by grandchildren, Liv and Tristan Caspersson, William Holley, & Brayden Berberich. Visitation will be Saturday, September 28 at 10am at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Rd East, Fort Mill, SC with a memorial mass to follow. A military tribute and Christian burial will honor his service to our country and will conclude his celebration of life.
