James Weigel

James R. Weigel, age 87, passed away September 17, 2014 at Magnolia Manor, Rock Hill, SC. James was born on June 14, 1927 to Charles and Margaret Weigel in Freeport, IL. James served in the U.S. Navy from June 1945 to August 1946. James married Mary Beryl Dale in September 1946. They moved to Milwaukee, WI and raised five children. He started out as a meat cutter and worked his way up to grocery manager, working most of his life at Kohl's Foods. They retired to The Villages, FL; where they enjoyed many years of golf and playing cards. He is survived by his five children; David (Diane) Weigel, Dale (George) Nettles, Robert (Lyn) Weigel, Richard (Krista) Weigel, and Shelley(James) Welter. Also seven grandchildren; Mark, Brian, Andrew, Bret, Robin, Meghan, Michelle and eight great-grandchildren. Along with two brothers, three sisters, nieces and nephews. There will be a family gathering and service in January 2015, with burial at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
