James Allen "Jim" Williams

August 30, 1946 — June 11, 2019

James "Jim" Allen Williams, 72, of Rock Hill, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Piedmont Medical Center. He was born August 30, 1946 in Wytheville, VA, son of the late James Bryan and Marie Irene Stuart Williams.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from the Maryland State Police after 25 years of dedicated service. After his retirement, he became a general contractor and more recently worked for Burns Chevrolet in York. Jim held many positions with the SC Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 10 and 15, including Secretary and Sergeant-at-Arms. Very giving by nature, he would often go out of his way for others. He was quick witted and had an incredible sense of humor. A devout family man, loving husband, father and grandfather, Jim enjoyed traveling with his wife and was very involved in his children and grandchildren's lives. He will forever be remembered as a kind-hearted soul.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 31 years, Karen Mary Williams; children, Jim Williams and wife, Carol of Dundalk, MD, Michelle Cullen and husband, Tim of Bel Air, MD, and Troy Stower and wife, Amber of Hanover, PA; grandchildren, Tayler Williams, Cameryn Williams, Dylan Cullen, Sydney Cullen, Brielle Stower, and Teagan Stower; sisters, Velva Heinze and husband, Charles, Jane Skrzypiec and husband, Jerry, and Pam Leidner and husband, Mark, all of MD; brother, Bobby Williams and wife, Pat of MD; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the York County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 15, 954 West Main Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730. Inurnment will take place in Maryland at a later date.
