James "Buddy" Young Sr.

James Franklin "Buddy" Young, Sr., 66, of Fort Lawn, SC passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Born in Gastonia, NC, Buddy was the son of the late Walter Young and Hattie Stewart. He was a member of New Birth Baptist Church. Some of his favorite past-times were deer hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-dad, Don Stewart; and a sister, Janice Eckhart. Rita would like to give a special thanks to her sister Glenda and her children for their constant love and support. He is survived by his wife, Rita Blanton Young; a son, James Franklin Young, Jr. and wife Tammy; 3 daughters, Charlene Fullam and husband Greg, Renee Robinson and husband Ronnie, and Kim Dent and husband Jeff; a brother, Steve Young and wife Frita; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 4 nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate the life of Buddy will be held 1pm Friday, January 3, 2014 in the chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home with the Rev. Arnie McManus officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service and after the service at 1553 Hallmark Dr. Rock Hill, SC 29730.
