Jane P Whisonant

Mrs. Jane P. Whisonant, 68, of Rock Hill passed away peacefully Thursday, December 10, 2020, at The Overlook at Cedarcrest in Acworth, GA.

There will be a private funeral at Palmetto Funeral Home at 2pm on Saturday, December 19, 2020 followed by a private burial for the family at Forest Hills Cemetery. The services will be live streamed and can be viewed at Palmetto Funeral Group Facebook Page, the family would love to have extended family and friends to join them.

Born in York, Mrs. Whisonant was the daughter of the late Ireland and Edith Pruitt. She was a member of West End Baptist Church where she and her late husband had previously served in the Youth Ministry as their children were growing up. Jane served her local community for as long as anyone can remember at Bowater Credit Union or later at her Mortgage Company.

Mrs. Whisonant was preceded in death in 2013 by her husband of 42 years David Whisonant and her brother Garnett Pruitt. Mrs. Whisonant is survived by her sons, Chris (Jen) Whisonant of Acworth, GA and Stephen (Hayley) Whisonant of Rock Hill; her brother, Wayne Pruitt of Van Wyck; her sisters, Gayle Robinson of Mount Pleasant and Marlene Pardue of Heath Springs; and her six grandchildren. Mrs. Whisonant will be remembered for the way she welcomed everyone - in her home, in her Sunday School class, or across her desk.

The family is grateful to her caregivers at The Overlook at Cedarcrest and Heartland Hospice for their loving and compassionate care in her final weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan's Purse) since Christmas was her favorite time of year.
