Janie Ruth Bishop

Janie Ruth “Dolly/DaDa” Bishop went to be with the Lord on January 15th, 2022 at 94 years old. Dolly was laying in her bed beside her Great Niece Katie Williams, surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing, listening to Gospel music.  She was a devoted follower of Christ and would humbly brag about reading the Bible in it’s entirety twice in her lifetime. Dolly had a heart that would not let her stop giving, even until her last days, she showed everyone respect and love and never considered anyone she met a stranger. She led a pure and fulfilling life, and she dedicated 39 years to working at Celanese which was a big accomplishment for her. She lost her lifelong partner of 65+ years Edward Hefley four months ago, she tried to continue her life on earth, but is now reunited with him. They simply don't make them like her anymore, and she will be forever missed by all, but never forgotten. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 24, 2022 at 2:00pm in the Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Grandview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1pm until service time.
