Jay William Horne

Jay William Horne, 67, passed away unexpectedly in Gastonia, NC.  He was born July 20, 1954, grew up in Charlotte, and spent many happy years in Tega Cay, SC.  Jay was a Tega Cay Fire Department volunteer for a time and dedicated several years to organizing community run youth sports.  Most recently, he designed and maintained websites and databases.

Jay was known by family and friends for his sense of humor and love of music, his pride in being a father to his son, his mechanical abilities, and his eagerness to help with projects.  He is survived by his son, John Horne, John’s mother Pat, John's fiancé Veronica, his mother Freda Correll, his sister Janet, and his lifelong friends Joe Utley and Jack Moore.  Jay also has many cousins, aunts, uncles, and other family members as well as close friends to whom he felt great love and loyalty.  He will be missed.

The family and friends will receive guests for a service at the Palmetto Funeral Home at 2049 Carolina Pl. Dr, Fort Mill, SC 29708 on Saturday, August 28 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
