REFLECTION OF LIFE
On June 10, 2023, just 10 days before his 17th birthday, Jayden Ridley unexpectedly passed away in his sleep, at his home in Clover, SC. He was born on June 20, 2006, in Jacksonville, NC. Having just completed his 11th grade year, Jayden was well into enjoying his summer vacation.
Affectionately known as "Jay", He loved his family, cars (especially loud ones), road trips, music, outdoors, and hanging with friends. He shared an amazing bond with his siblings and dogs. Jay loved baseball and, when he played either recreationally or with travel, he mimicked the jersey number of his favorite player, Mike Trout #27 of the Los Angeles Angels. Jayden had an infectious smile and was not afraid to be silly. He was super smooth and subtle but had a larger-than-life personality that penetrated the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Most recently, he began working at Zaxby’s Restaurant, with the intent of spreading that Jayden-style love to as many people as he could. One of Jay's favorite pastimes was frequenting the local Walmart where he and his friends would gather to show off the newest additions to their cars.
Jayden is survived by his mother, Charlene Ridley and spouse Jalon; father, Jemar Ridley and spouse Anyelina; siblings, Emilia, Ava Grace, James, Jacie, and Jasper Ridley; grandparents, Charlie & Mary Lewis, Theresa Jones & Jessie Ridley; aunts, Sharmon Saunders & Daphane Anderson; uncles, Lawrence Harris, Christopher Ridley & Lydell Ridley; girlfriend, Stefany Solis-Alpizar, and a host of great aunts & uncles, cousins, and friends.
