Rock Hill - Willie Jean McArthur, 81, of 1081 D. Hearn Street, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
Born in Seneca, S.C.,she is he daughter of the late Clyde and Lillie Douglas McAllister. Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, friend and family member. A woman filled with love that served many. Her entire life was dedicated to her church. She was an active member, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School. Jean was a vessel that God used to lead many people to Jesus.
She was a registered clown and ventriloquist. She spent many weekends going to Whitton Village with her sidekick "Russell". She always made the children and young adults happy. She always left them with a smile on thier faces. Jean was active at the senior center in Moyock, N.C.,and had her own craft house. She was so creative and made so many gifts for others.
All who knew her loved her and will miss her saying " I love you right back!"
She is survived by her son, William "Bill" Howell; her daughter, Wendy Howell Bowers; three grandchildren, Danny Howell, Dustin Bowers and Amanda Bowers. She is preceded in death by a brother, Maxie Clyde McAllister; and a sister, Mary Jo McAllister Clark.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Whitesell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, 1:00-4:00 pm, at the home of Fred and Renee Thomas,
