Jerald Eugene Gaskins, Sr.

Rock Hill - Mr. Jerald Eugene Gaskin, Sr. was born on May 24, 1936, and went to heaven on September 18, 2015.

He was the son of the late Willie and Inez Gaskin of Fort Mill, SC. Jerald (Pop) served in the United States Air Force, was a salesman for Queen City TV and Appliances, worked security for PTL, and ended his work career at the age of 79 with Harrelson Nissan. He was an ordained minister for the Assembly of God, served on the church board, and taught the Hallelujah Senior Class. Pop lived his life as a servant of Jesus, loving his family and friends. He will be greatly missed as a husband, dad, and granddad.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Inez Parker Gaskin and their four children Jerald Gaskin Jr. and Diane, Terrell Gaskin and Barbara, Sharon Gaskin Caron and Gil, and Pastor Paul Gaskin and Marcie. He is also survived by eight grandchildren Angie Gaskin Nash and Ryan, Sarah Gaskin Lambert, David Gaskin, Lisa Gaskin, Phillip Gaskin, Andrew Gaskin and Kristee, Britney Gaskin, and Jordan Gaskin; along with five great-grandchildren: Greyson, Tessa, Anneliese, Avonlea, and Verity Jane Nash. He is also survived by two sisters Betty Gaskin Reynolds of Pennsylvania and Nancy Gaskin Brewer and Bill of Fort Mill, SC, as well as many nieces and nephews. Three brothers preceded him in death: Howard Gaskin, Ed Gaskin, and Johnny Gaskin.

The memorial service will take place on Tuesday, September 22nd at 7 p.m. at First Assembly of God in Rock Hill, SC and will be officiated by Bernie Lewis.
