Jerald Carroll Sweat

Jerald (Jerry) C. Sweatt, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Jerry was born on January 23, 1945. He was the son of Myrtle Sweatt Broome of York, SC. He was influenced both morally and spiritually by his grandparents Will and Zelah Sweatt as well as his uncle Asa Sweatt. Jerry was a 1964 graduate of Rock Hill High School. He continued his education through York Technical College. He retired from the City of Rock Hill after 30 years of service. Then continued to work as a Consultant for 15 more years with the City of Rock Hill. He was an active member of Unity at Calvary Church of God. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of almost 51 years, Darlene, of the home; his daughter, Alicia, of York, SC; his son, Scott and wife Brandy, of Rock Hill; three grandchildren, Cody, his Big Guy; Ethan, his Little Buddy; and Maddie, his Heart, all of Rock Hill, SC; his brother, Bill Marthers and sister Cathy Marthers, of Leesville SC; as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 6 om to 8 pm at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, 700 Heckle Blvd, Rock Hill, SC 29730. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 2 pm at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Kenneth Rabon officiating.
