Rock Hill - Jerry Dedge Lee Sr., age 79, son of Connie and Andrew Lee, was born in Waycross, Georgia on October 30, 1942. He passed away on May 14, 2022, at his Fairway Cr. home in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
At a young age, Jerry developed a fascination and love for drag-racing and sky-diving. After graduating from University of North Carolina-Charlotte in 1971, he went on to attend Brigham Young University, earning his Master's degree in 1975. Jerry’s hard work and education took him all over the United States. One of his career highlights was overseeing the construction of several major nuclear power plants. From 1977 to 1998 Jerry worked for Fluor Daniel International all throughout the United States. There he was assigned to oversee the construction and completion of various large-scale building projects. He was consistently commended for job performances on every occasion. Jerry was a Project Manager, and his most recent project was STP Nuclear in Bay City, Texas. He enjoyed sailing, golfing and shag-dancing. In his personal as well as professional life he was known for being intelligent, able, devoted, and adventurous.
While working at Daniel Construction in 1965, he met his wife Linda at a drive-in restaurant in Rock Hill, South Carolina. They married at Nazarene Church in Ft. Mill, South Carolina on June 26, 1966. They had six children together: Dedge in North Carolina (1971), Royal in Utah (1973), Constance in Utah (1975), Kimball in South Carolina, (1977), Andrew in South Carolina (1979), and Christopher in Missouri (1983).
Jerry belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a strong faith in God. He was entirely devoted to his family and lived for his grandkids. He never missed an opportunity to attend and root loudly for his kids, grandkids nieces and nephews with various sporting and other activities, or to give extra attention to one of them who may have been struggling. He often showed his great love by gift-giving. He had a very dry sense of humor, and always loved a good debate. He cherished his time with his brother and three sisters, and also cherished his companionship with Pat Huckabee later in life. Jerry and Pat loved to travel, go dancing, and out to eat (especially at Crab Catchers), they also loved to lounge out at the lake.
He is survived by six children and sixteen grandchildren: Dedge (Dallas) Lee - children Tyler, Trajan, Dylan, Dawson, Gavyn, and Devyn.
