Jess Calvin Fox, 67, of 2450 Oakwood Circle, passed away Friday, July 10, 2009 at his residence. A native of Weaverville, Buncombe County, NC, Mr. Fox was born July 29, 1941 a son of the late Wayne Calvin Fox, Sr. and the late Mary Alice Sheppard Fox. H e helped his brother open up Lowe's Stores all over the United States, had his own muffler shop in Asheville, NC, drove race cars with some famous race car drivers , was supervisor over the years for Midas and Meineke Muffler Shops in Charlotte. He worked at McGuire's Mobile Home Park for Mr. and Mrs. Frank McGuire whom he considered caring friends. Mr. Fox was loved by a great many people in Rock Hill where he's lived with his wife Linda and family for 15 years as well as many who loved him from Asheville and every where he's lived, to know J.C. was to love him. His father-in-law has just passed recently and he loved and grieved for him so very much so I know he's in Heaven smiling with him and he has no more pain. They're both in healthy heavenly bodies now. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Jackie Fox. Surviving are his wife of 15 years Linda Johnson Fox of Rock Hill; daughters Robin Connelly of Rock Hill, Teresa Fox , Jolene Fox, Wendy Jernigan of Rock Hill, Nancy Fox of Maggie Valley, NC, son, caretaker and best friend Michael Price of Rock Hill, sons Ricky Price of Rock Hill, J.C. Tony of Virginia, and Kalib Price of Rock Hill, brother Wayne Calvin, Fox, Jr. of Washington State; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Fox will be held Tuesday at 4:00pm in the chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Rabon officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00pm Sunday at the home of the daughter Robin Connelly, 673 Spyglass Way, Rock Hill and other times at the residence.
