Jewel Mcclure Ball

Jewel Key McClure Ball, 89, reached her heavenly home on Wednesday, August 19, 2015. She was born in Greenville, SC where she attended Greenville High School. She was the last of 13 siblings born to Ethel Gosnell Key and Walter Charles Key, all of who preceded in death.

Ms. Ball was a Church of God pastor's wife for approximately 50 years and served alongside her husband, (Rev. Jack McClure) until his sudden death in 1995. She was a member of the Fort Mill Church of God for 10 years.

In 1997 she married John Lee Ball, Sr. of Tifton, GA. He also preceded her in death.

While most of her professional life was spent as a minister's wife, she worked at several cotton mills and the shipyard in Jacksonville, FL as a welder during World War II.

She is survived by her daughter Jackie McClure Tracy (William) with whom she resided for the past 10 years. Two sons Raymond McClure (Susan) of Acworth, GA and Dennis McClure (Vickie) of Marietta, GA; one godson Thomas Staples (Linda) of Greenville, SC. Two sister-in-laws Ruby Hawkins and Betty Garrett of Greenville, SC. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren, and her special friend James Knight.

A visitation will be held from 10AM- 12PM on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Fort Mill Church of God, 221 Academy Street, Fort Mill, SC 29715. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12pm. There will be a short graveside service at Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681 at 4PM on Saturday, August 22, 2015.
