Jill (Reeley) Lee

Rock Hill SC - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jill Reeley Lee, 78, a beloved church organist, esteemed piano teacher, and devoted grandmother.

The family will receive friends 11:00 am Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Westminster Presbyterian Church and a funeral will follow at Noon with the Rev. Mike Honeycutt officiating.  Burial will be in Laurelwood Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, SC, Mrs. Jill Lee was a daughter of the late Jewel Cromer Reeley and John Herwald Reeley. She was a widower of Andrew Jack Lee.  She departed this world on December 12, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of music, education, and love that will resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

She was the church organist for Westminster Presbyterian church as well as piano teacher. She had a deep love for God and a passion for music. She also touched many lives through her life and instilled a love of music in many people. She loved every one of her students and was so proud to see them grow.

As a piano teacher, Jill touched the lives of many aspiring musicians, imparting not only technical proficiency but also a profound appreciation for the beauty and emotion that music can convey. Her students remember her patience, encouragement, and unwavering belief in their potential. She inspired generations of pianists to find their own voices and express themselves through the language of music.

Beyond her musical accomplishments, Jill was a dedicated grandmother and mother whose warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on her family. She cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren and son, creating a nurturing environment filled with laughter, wisdom, unconditional love, and the occasional frustrations. Her home was a haven of comfort and acceptance, where memories were made, and bonds were strengthened.

Surviving are her son, Ladson Lee of Rock Hill, SC; and her four grandchildren, Jonathan, Destiny, Christopher, and Matthew Lee. She was preceded by her brother, (Stump); her sister, Hilda Reeley Umphlette; and her brothers, George Reeley and Jack Reeley.

May Jill's soul rest in eternal peace, and may her music and contributions continue to inspire and uplift for generations to come.
