Mr. Jim "Greasy" Collins 84 passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 at White Oak Manor in Lancaster, SC. Born in Waxhaw, NC, he was a son of the late John and Laura Collins. Mr. Collins was owner and operator of Collins Plumbing and Heating in Indian Land. He was a US Army Veteran, former member of the Indian Land Fire Department and was of the Presbyterian faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Francis Collins and sisters Margie Laney and Lena Bennett. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2014 at Belair United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Collins, Rev. Steve Jacks and Rev. Bennie Greene officiating. Burial will be private at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday, April 1st, 2014 at Belair United Methodist Church. Mr. Collins is survived by his son: Bruce Collins and wife Penny of Indian Land, SC, three daughters: Jeanette Howie and husband Rick, Sara Killough and husband Brian and Vivian Pressley and husband Mike all of Indian Land, SC, his brother: Larry Collins and wife Debbie of Lancaster, SC, six sisters: Merle Helms and husband Jack of Monroe, NC, Becky Daniels and husband Bill of Kansas, Laura Kimbrell and husband Richard of Rock Hill, SC, Blanche Vinson of Macon, GA, Diane McBroome of Rock Hill, SC and Zelda Ghent of Indian Land, SC, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and his pet dog Molly. Memorials may be made to the Charity of one's choice or Higher Ground Church Sidewalk Fund, 8365 Possum Hall Road, Indian Land, SC 29707. At Mr. Collins request please dress in casual attire.
