Jimmie John Hood

Rock Hill, SC Jimmie John (Johnny) Hood, 69 went home to be with Jesus and his family July 17 at his home in Rock Hill, SC. Born in Kopperston , WV, Johnny was the son of the late Earnie and Pauline Jarrett Hood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Betty Eagen; three brothers, Raymond, Paul & Jerry Hood. Johnny graduated from Oceana High School in 1962 in Oceana, WV. He is employed with Control Southeast in Charlotte, NC where he has worked for the past 24 years. He was a former employee of Sophia Electric in Beckley, WV. He attended the Fort Mill Church of God. Johnny is survived by his wife of 45 years, Freda Hood- Two children Brian Hood and Denise Whisenant and her husband Ron. Two Grandchildren, Dylan and Mackenzie Holland- all of Rock Hill, SC. Johnny is also survived by a sister, Frances (Muzzy) Morgan and Eudell of Dover, TN, five brothers, Larry & Brenda of Charlotte, NC, Roger & Debbie of Myrtle Beach, SC, Terry & Anita of Oceana, WV Jeff & Priscilla of Kopperston, WV Russell (Rusty) & April of Charlotte, NC, and a host of family and friends. A Celebration of Johnny's life will be held at Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Mill, SC. The Family will receive friends Sunday, July 21 from 11 am until 2 pm- Funeral services will follow. Johnny's nephew, Dell Morgan of Dover TN will conduct the funeral. Eulogy will be given by Johnny's boss and longtime friend Butch Hill. A Memorial will be held at a later date at the Palm Memorial Gardens in Matheny, WV where Johnny's ashes will be laid to rest.
