Jimmy Franklin Tinker

Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Jimmy Franklin Tinker, 79, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at his daughter’s home surrounded by his loved ones.

A memorial service will be Noon, Friday, April 7, 2023, at Grace Chapel Baptist Church, 475 Shiloh Road S., York, SC 29745 with the Rev. Thomas Broom officiating.

He was a son of the late Lawrence Tinker and Wilma Tinker.  He will be remembered as a man who loved the outdoors and walking.  Before he became sick family gatherings were always important to him.  He enjoyed singing particularly County Music and Gospel Music.  One of his favorite pastimes was sitting in his rocking chair on the porch.  He was a huge Atlanta Braves baseball fan.  He was always friendly.  The love of his life was his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rhoda Wong-Chong Tinker; brother, David Tinker; sister, Beatrice Surratt; children, Shawn, Chad, Daphne and Lydon; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Charles Tinker; his sisters, Euretha Gordon, Margaret Tinker, Polly Patterson, Ruthanne Langley, Robbie Ballard and Martha Jane Tinker; a granddaughter, Chasity Hendricks; and a grandson, Trevor Tinker Scholls.
