Joan Marilyn Hershman

Joan Hershman passed away suddenly on Friday December 29th, 2023 at her home in Chandler Place Independent Living Rock Hill SC. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched. She was 81 years old.

Joan was born in Owatonna, Minnesota on August 23, 1942 to Michael and Ann McGinley. Her favorite hobby was shopping. She also loved to bowl, dance and listen to all types of music, especially Elvis. Joan enjoyed traveling, sun bathing and gambling in casinos. In her later years she enjoyed watching TV with her dog Chloe. She was an active member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Fort Mill, SC for several years.

Joan is survived by her sister Pat Stangler and husband Leo Stangler, daughter Kim Kilbarger and husband Joe Kilbarger; son Steve Simon and wife Mindy; late son Craig Simon; grandchildren Nick and Danielle Kilbarger, Brady Simon, Mark Simon; niece Michelle Doyle and husband Rob, children, Liam and Mikaela Doyle; and nephew Michael Stangler.
