Joan M Savoca, cancer survivor, passed away on May 17, 2023. Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, November 4, 1940, Joan was the Daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Hornyak.
Joan (also known as Mama, Gramma and GiGi) is survived by husband of 61 years, Ullando, her daughters, Jenifer Savoca and Diana Britt (husband Tom). She was absolutely in love with her grandsons, Austin (wife Caroline) and Hunter (wife Anna) as well as her great-grandchildren, Isaac (4), Lucia (2) and Mateo (10 weeks). GiGi loved video chatting with them, and looked forward to feeding them tons of sweets when they visited. She was looking forward to the upcoming birth of her 4th great grandchild due in July.
Joan was a devoted housewife, who loved family visits. She would spend weeks preparing when everyone came to town. She would dance around the kitchen while she baked, and made all of it seem so easy. Holidays were never done “small” in her house. She worked endlessly to make all holidays a huge celebration. Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving; her home was a wonderland of decorations that will not soon be forgotten.
Joanie also enjoyed her outings to the casino, and seemed to have a knack for winning! She was a fun-loving woman who loved laughter and fun times. She will be missed. Ullando has expressed he misses his wife, he loves her, and does not know what he is going to do without her. As for Jenifer and Diana; we love you Mama and we thank-you for loving us unconditionally.
