Joanne Hammond Bishop

Rock Hill - Joanne Hammond Bishop, 76, of 321 Sherwood Circle, died Friday, June 21, 2013, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Catawba Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Richardson and Rev. Ray Long Officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and other times at the home.

A native of Chesterfield, Mrs. Bishop was a daughter of the late Arthur and Ola Sutton Hammond. She was the widow of Ray Denton Bishop.

Surviving are her son, Tim Bishop (Rita); a daughter, Cindy Stowe (Ernest); a sister, Janice Whisonant (Ken); five grandchildren, Brandi King, Bobby Brooks, Amos Baker, Sheena Branch and Jarod Baker; and six great-grandchildren; and special friend, Ken Smith. She was preceded in death by five brothers, James O'Neal(Weasel) Hammond, Arthur Hammond, Billy (Sig) Hammond, Jack Hammond and Mickey Hammond; and three sisters, Ruby Fowler, Idell Hill and Ramona Moore.
