Joe Efird Lavender, Sr.

Mr. Joe E. Lavender Sr. 74, passed away Monday, November 23, 2009 at his home in Fort Mill.
Joe was born in Spartanburg, SC to Joe D. and Mae Hinson Lavender. He was preceded in death by his
parents and one sister, Jeanette Lavender Bowden. Joe was a proud veteran of the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and a long time member of the American Legion Post 43 in Fort Mill. Joe was also an accomplished musician, having played for the Devilles in Charlotte, NC. He also ran a booking and talent agency in Nashville that booked many stars. He also wrote A Christmas Song recorded by B.J. Thomas.

1 Step-Son: Chad Laney of Fort Mill
2 Sisters: Marion Lavender Stallings of Fort Mill

Graveside services will be held 3:00pm Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Pineville City Cemetery with Mayor Danny Funderburk and Mr. Hans Wagner officiating and military honors by American Legion of Fort Mill, SC.
Friends and Family will gather at the familys home.
