Joe Meek White

ROCK HILL - Mr. Joe Meek White , 78, of 1046 Cherokee Ave., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at Agape Rehabilitation Care Center. Mr. White was an engineer land surveyor in the construction business and Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a good Christian man who loved helping others and was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his daughters, Debra J. Phillips of York and Joyce White of Rock Hill; sons, Wilbur D. White of Chester, Joseph M. White II of Rock Hill, Thomas D. White of Rock Hill and Christopher D. White of Columbia. Also survived by 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Isabel Moore of Charlotte; and brothers, Robert G. White, Paul G. White and Lyndel M. White, all of Sharon, S.C. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at Covenant Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. Saturday, by the Rev. Tom Sherer. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park. Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home and Cremation Center is serving the family.
