John James Adkins

John James Adkins of Rock Hill, SC, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024, at his home.

He was a Home Builder until he went to work for York County as a Building Inspector in 1990. In 2008 he retired and spent many wonderful years with his wife, Phyllis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Florence Adkins, and his brother, Thomas Adkins.

John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis; sons: Jack Adkins (Missy), and Ray Adkins; grandchildren: Nick Adkins (Heather), April Taylor (Michael), Brandon Adkins (Kimmi) and John Adkins; sisters: Margaret Gomes (Stan), and Linda Cook (Darryl); brother, Bill Adkins (Debra); and many more loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bass Cauthen Funeral Home, 700 Heckle Boulevard, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
