John David Branch, Jr.

John David Branch, Jr., 84, departed this life on May 12, 2012. He was born on September 8, 1927 in Rock Hill, SC the only child of John David Branch, Sr. and Vada Carnes Branch. He was preceded in death by his parents. A lifelong resident of York County, John David was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a well known Sawmill Operator, farmer and also served many years as a York County Forest Ranger for the South Carolina Commission of Forestry. He was also Elder Emeritus at Olivet Presbyterian Church. John David is survived by his wife of 61 years Audrey Herndon Branch; three children Regina Branch Clawson of McConnells, SC , John David Branch, III of Norfolk, VA, Robert Thomas Branch of Greensboro, NC; six grandchildren Jennifer Clawson Williams of McConnells, SC, John Robert Clawson of Charlotte, NC, Stephen Russell Branch and Amanda Caroline Branch of Greensboro,NC and David Bruce Powell and Anne Randolph Powell of Norfolk, VA, and two great grandchildren Kathryne Anne Williams and Kaitlyn Rebecca Williams. A service to celebrate the life of John David will be held Tuesday at 11:00am at Olivet Presbyterian Church in McConnells with Reverend Chip McArthur officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until the hour of service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Olivet Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 23, McConnells, SC 29726 or the charity of one's choice.
