John Christian Demmy

John Christian Demmy passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 in Charlotte, NC. Born February 6th, 1948 to John and Pauline Demmy in Butler, PA. John grew up in Lyndora, PA with a close-knit family community where his father was owner and operator of Demmy’s Evergreen Pharmacy. He devoted years as an altar server at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora, PA. Moving to Cincinnati, Ohio after graduation from Xavier University, he served as an investment broker for his entire career. He loved Cincinnati, switching allegiance from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati sports. He was especially fond of Xavier Men’s basketball. John moved to Fort Mill, SC in July 2015 and has lived there since to be near family. Surviving John are his wife Ann of 49 years, sons Dave (Colleen), Paul (Brittany), his sister Ruth Nester of Columbus, Ohio, and grandchildren Kendal, Colin and Louisa Demmy.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday January 22 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill, SC. It will be available to view via live stream at https://boxcast.tv/channel/it5pks2xxbbjugdsgspo or https://saintphilipneri.org/ (then go to “View a Live Mass” link).
