John Joseph "Jack" Fantry

Mr. John Joseph (Jack) Fantry, Sr., 89, formerly of Rock Hill, died Monday, December 13, 2010 in Ridgeway, SC. A memorial service for Mr. Fantry will be held at 2:00pm Friday, December 17, 2010 in The Oratory, 434 Charlotte Ave., Rock Hill, SC. John Joseph Fantry, Sr. was born in Brooklyn, New York September 21, 1921, the oldest son of the late George Fantry and the late Mary Schwarts Fantry. He was preceded in death by his wife Jane Paskins Fantry and his sister Eileen Fantry Malher. He is survived by his brother George Fantry, Jr. and his sister Dorothy Fantry Stevens, two sons John J. Fantry, Jr. of Winnsboro, SC, Timothy J. Fantry of Rock Hill, SC, and his daughter Patricia Fantry Maderson of Summerville, SC. He is also survived by his five grandchildren Alyson Maderson Quinlog, Regan F. Bradley, Leslie F. Carroll, Hope F. Licea and John Patrick Maderson, and three great-grandchildren Kaylin Carroll, Colton Carroll, and Wilhem Quinlog. Jack was a proud Marine veteran of WWII. He was a graduate of Mount Saint Mary's College in Maryland and worked many years as a chemist in sales for the textile and dyes industry. Jack was a former member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Rock Hill before moving to Ridgeway. The family will receive friends immediately after the memorial service at: The Oratory, 434 Charlotte Ave., Rock Hill, SC.
