John William Garvey, Jr.

Rock Hill - Mr. John William Garvey, 72, went to his eternal rest on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

Memorial services with Masonic Rites will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Whitesell Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Garvey, Sr. and Georgia Lennon Garvey and his daughter, Dawn Garvey.

John was in sales and also a mortgage broker. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Kelly) Garvey; a son, Jonathan W. Garvey; his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Rinehart Garvey all of Rock Hill; his grandchildren, Jessica Garvey, Zackary Garvey Jacob Garvey, and Kristin Marvin of Charlotte, NC, Taylor Marvin of New York, Lauren Lowery of Rock Hill and Abbie Simon of Columbia.

The family would like to thank their family and friends for their love and support as well as CMC Main, Dr. Stephen Oehme, Dr. John Mahoney, Dr. Kris Gaston and Hospice and Community Care (Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.)

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice and Community Care, Shriners Hospital for Children or a charity of your choice.
