John Lloyd Hanson

John L. Hanson sadly departed this life, and entered eternity on May 13th, 2024, in Matthews North Carolina. John and Victoria have resided in South Carolina for twenty plus years and shared a beautiful marriage of forty years on January 16, 2024.

John is the son of Lois Wysuph, who passed away October 13, 2015, and son of Joseph L. Hanson who passed away June 20th, 2006. John is survived by his sister Diane Martin, Beth Mahalla, Gloria Kusch, Jayne Meza, Judy Wennberg , Jill Wysuph, Karen Hanson, Marla Hanson-Fleming, and Ginny Hanson. And preceded in death by his sister Kreste Albertus.

John L. Hanson is also survived by his wife, Victoria J. Hanson, and children James Elfman, Tracie Ohonme (Manny), Wayne Elfman (Miki) Joseph Elfman, and his four grandchildren Adenike Ohonme, Oladele Ohonme-Williams (Ashley) Oluyemisi Ohonme, and Adewale Ohonme.

John enjoyed making new friends; never meeting a stranger. His memories over his thirty-seven years of over the road trucking were some of the highlights of his accomplishments. A few of his favorite stops along his route included California, Canada, and Nevada. John had a love of farming, most especially growing his own tomatoes.” He had a deep fondness for classic and restored cars. John was an avid collector of pocket watches, CAMEL lighters, and a good oldie's vinyl.

John loved his family fiercely and invited new friends into all our lives with his colorful stories.

He and his stories will be dearly missed.
