John William Hetherington, Sr.

John William Hetherington, Sr., 74, of 540 Harmony Glen Circle, passed away Friday, June 24, 2009 at his residence. A native of Zilwaukee, Michigan, Mr. Hetherington was born October 10, 1934 a son of the late Oral Hetherington and Arla Carlton Adams. He was retired from University of North Charlotte-Charlotte maintenance department and member of Shield of Faith in Rock Hill. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers. Surviving are his wife Joann Whiteaker Hetherington; four sons John Hetherington, Jr. , Jesse and James Hetherington all of Rock Hill, Jerry Hetherington and his wife Angie of Lawrence, TN; one daughter Jodie Peterson and husband David Ronnie of Rock Hill; one sister Oraldean Polaski of Saginaw, Michigan; twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Hetherington will be held Sunday at 5:00pm at Shield of Faith with Reverend Larry Soles officiating.
