John Andrew Hughes

Dateline: Rock Hill, SC John Andrew Hughes, 85, of Rock Hill, SC died Monday, July 7, 2014. Born in East Liverpool, OH, Mr. Hughes was the son of the late John J. Hughes and Marie Kelly Hughes. He was a graduate of Kent State University in Kent, OH and from 1946 to 1950 played on the Kent State football team. Mr. Hughes was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Sue Hughes. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Laughlin Hughes; a son, Robert W. Hughes; 2 daughters, Cynthia Hughes Wike and Nancy Hughes Doerner; 2 sisters, Mary Margaret Hughes Conley and Ann Hughes Wehner; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. A Mass of the Ressurection will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 11:00am in the St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment is private. Memorial donations may be made to Samaritan Fund at Park Pointe Village.
