John Michael "Mike" Wood

John Michael "Mike" Wood, 66, of Rock Hill, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at home. He was born August 30, 1950 in Rock Hill, SC, son of the late John Lincoln Wood and Christine Shackleford Snyder. Mike retired from Snyder-Lance, Inc. after a 35 year career and most recently worked as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Wolfpackaging Industries for 9 years. He was a member of the North Carolina Association of Vending Services, Fort Mill Country Club and attended India Hook United Methodist Church. Most important to Mike was his family and he relished his active involvement in his children and grandchildren's sporting activities and they often vacationed at Surfside Beach. He also enjoyed playing golf and fishing. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Shelby Wyatt Wood; son, Wylie Wood and wife, Melissa of Edgemoor, SC; daughter, Kathilynn Michelle Wood of Charlotte; grandchildren, Ashley Wood and Dylan Wood; sisters, Diane Synder of Gulfport, MS, Myra Chavez of San Antonio, TX, Kathy Pennock of Payson, AZ and Sarah Baker of Rock Hill; brothers-in-law, Bobby Wyatt and wife, Pat of Rock Hill and Walter Wyatt and wife, Patty of Lancaster. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 27, 2017 at India Hook United Methodist Church in Rock Hill. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
