John Harrison Worden Jr.

John Harrison Worden Jr, 80, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at his home in Chester, VA. Born in Colonial Heights, VA on January 12, 1935 to John Harrison Worden Sr. and Mary Louise Elizabeth Smith Worden. He was a licensed ordained minister with Full Gospel Fellowship of America and owner/operator of J Worden & Sons Paving Co. He attended church at Cornerstone Faith Assembly in Richmond, VA where he served as a deacon and the church secretary/treasurer for 20 years. He is survived by his wife; Betty Jo Hyatt Worden of 59 years, five daughters; Vicky June Worden of Churchill, MD, Betty Worden Frisbee (Randy) of Chester, VA, Leila Worden Jordan of Chester, VA, Dianne Worden Forrest (Ted) of Chester, VA, Deborah Worden Smith (Eddie) of Fort Mill, SC, two sons; John Harrison Worden III (Claudette) of Rock Hill, SC, William Kire Bruce Worden (Ellen Nora) of Chester, VA, 17 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Saturday, February 28, 2015 and Sunday, March 1, 2015 and the funeral will be at 12:00 noon on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Palmetto Funeral Home and Crematory, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC, interment will be following the funeral at Oaklawn Cemetery, 1615 Oaklawn Ave, Charlotte, NC.
