Johnny Eugene Nettles

John E. Nettles, Sr., 82, of Union, SC and formerly of Rock Hill, SC, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013. He was a graduate of Wake Forest University, a US Navy Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict, a member of the Grace Lutheran Chruch and the Senior Group there, a Boy Scout Troop Leader for over 20 years, and a member of the Silver Fox club of the YMCA. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and Sons of the Confederacy. He is survived by: His wife of 38 years: Joy Pierce Nettles; 2 daughters: Laury Anne Wilson & husband Lloyd, Catherine Casey & husband Trampis; a son: John E. Nettles, Jr. & wife Edie; 5 grandchildren: Daniel, JoAnne, Jessie, David, Jill; 5 great-grandhildren: CJ, Bailey, Tylar Rose, Brooklyn, Lily, a brother-in-law: Richard Pierce. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 3:00pm in the Grace Lutheran Church with interment to follow in Rock Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until service at the church on Saturday.
