Joseph C Adams

November 21, 1942 — June 24, 2015

Joseph C. Adams III (Buck), age 72, died at home surrounded by his family on June 24, 2015. Born November 21, 1942 in York, SC. He graduated from Rock Hill High School and continued his education at Clemson University and then at Winthrop College where he graduated with a degree in Business. Buck was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. He taught CCD classes and had been active in Cursillo. Always generous and kind-hearted, he was a Guardian ad Litem for South Carolina for many years. Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years Colette of Rock Hill, daughters Jada Dunn and husband William of Fort Mill, Charlene Hoffmann and husband Joseph of Whitefield, NH, Christine Starnes and husband Jon also of Rock Hill. Grandsons Alec Dunn of N. Charleston, Colten and Connor Bradley of Whitefield, NH, Grand-daughter Caitlin Wyman of Waterville, ME. Brothers Barry Adams and Laura, Fred Adams and Joy, and Kenneth Adams, all of Rock Hill, and several nieces and nephews. Buck was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Gladys Hardin Adams. Visitation services will be held Saturday, June 27 from 2-4 PM at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. Followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 on Sunday, June 28 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1694 Bird St. Interment will be at St. Anne's later this year. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina in his memory. Special thanks to Karen, Barb, Christine, Tasha, and everyone at Hospice for their special care and attention to our father. John 15:5 I am the vine, you are the branches.
