It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Robert Connors, who left us on January 21, 2025. Joseph was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, known for his quirky smile and remarkable sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around him. He graduated from North Myrtle Beach High School with a high GPA achieving MESA high honors.
Born on June 13, 1980, Joseph dedicated much of his life to serving his county. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1997 to 1999 before continuing his service in the United States Marine Corps 1999 to 2005. His dedication, bravery, and commitment to his fellow servicemen and women were unwavering.
Beyond his military service, Joseph pursued higher education, earning a Master’s degree and becoming a paramedic, devoting himself to helping others in their times of need.
In his spare time Joey enjoyed his loyal, gentle and unconditional loving dog Mischa.
Joseph is survived by his loving parents, Stephen and Ellen Leonard, his loving sister, Kelly O’Keeffe, and his adored nieces, Emma, Kaitlyn, and Ella.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 15, at 11:00 AM at the Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Mill, South Carolina, 29708. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather at The Fish Market in Baxter Village, 990 Market Street, Fort Mill, South Carolina, 29708, to share memories and honor Joseph’s life.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, an organization dedicated to supporting injured veterans and their families.
Joseph’s legacy of service, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of those who know him. May you rest easy in grace and love, Joey.
