Joseph Anthony Corsillo

August 2, 1926 — December 28, 2017

Joseph (Joe) Anthony Corsillo, Jr., 91, passed peacefully the morning of Thursday December 28, 2017 at his home in Park Point Village in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The Christmas holidays were spent with his entire family and many friends, including wonderful caregivers (Amanda and Pam), Hospice nurse and director (Heather), neighbor (Linda), lifelong family friends (Pinky and Jim) and PPV Chaplin (Randy). Joe grew up in Cleveland, OH and spent many summers working at Conneaut Lake Park. He was a caddy for his dad who was a PGA pro golfer. Joe attended Cleveland State and Case Western Reserve. He was employed at TRW in Cleveland, OH for many years as a Service Engineer in Sales/Marketing before moving his family to North Carolina. In Gastonia and Charlotte, Joe was employed with several companies including WIX as a sales road warrior. In 1978, the family moved back to OH where Joe again worked at TRW until he retired in 1986. Joe enjoyed teaching others about the mechanical inner-workings of just about any item including automotive engines, planes, electronics, and most recently - 21st century technology, like his iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and iMAC computer. Joe was an excellent golfer (really could have gone "pro" like his dad) and enjoyed fishing in the various OH, NC and SC lakes. A lover of the outdoors and nature, he kept meticulous lawns and landscaped yards at every home he owned. As a resident of Park Point Village, Joe enjoyed the company of many close friends and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He served on several PPV boards including the facilities committee helping to shape development and growth while preserving aesthetic appeal of the community he grew to love. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Joe is preceded in death by his wife (Gretchen Dussel Corsillo), his parents (Joseph Anthony, Sr. and Marie Mikula Corsillo). He is survived by his children (Karen and Donald VonCannon), (Linda and Ron Richer), (Bo and Nicole Corsillo), as well as grandchildren (Bryan and Amanda VonCannon), (Leah and Greg Thelin), great grandchildren (Jackson and Ella Thelin), his sister, (Nancy Corsillo Dormand), and sister-in-law (Lynn Dussel Cathcart). A celebration of life service and gathering will be held at Park Point Village - 3025 Chesborough Blvd. in Rock Hill - on Saturday February 17, 2018 at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church at www.stmarysrh.org or call 803-329-1008 or Providence Care Hospice at www.providencecanhelp.com or call 803-818-6955. May blue birds and butterflies surround you!
