ROCK HILL - Joseph David Wells, 56, of 1484 Russell Rd., died Friday, August 16, 2013.

Born in Rock Hill, he is the son of the late Samuel and Josephine Morgan Wells. David was the owner and operator of Wells Painting and attended Eastside Baptist Church. He loved sports and coached Pee Wee Football for many years.

He is survived by his wife, L. Neita Hooks Wells; three sons Michael Wells (April), Timmy Wells, and J.R. Wheeler; two daughters, Melissa Wommer (Jay Jay)and R'Reale Wells; three brothers, Ricky Wells (Kimberly), Roger Wells and Dennis Wells (Debra); two sisters, Nancy Thomasson and Denise Browning; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by a son, Joseph David Wells Jr..

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at Whitesell Funeral Home and other times at the home of Melissa Wommer, 1262 Sullivan St., Rock Hill.

His burial will be private.
