Joy Lynn Erdy Chavez

Rock Hill- Mrs. Joy Lynn Erdy Chavez, 55, died Sunday, August 5th, 2018, at her home in York County.

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2018, at Whitesell Funeral home and family will receive friends one hour before services at 5 p.m.

A native of York County, Mrs. Chavez was the daughter of David Erdy Sr. and the late Nellie Ledford Erdy; and sister to Susan Bishop, Teresa Erdy-Hinson, and David Erdy Jr.

Surviving are her husband, John Chavez; her son Jonathan Chavez and wife Kellie; and grandchildren Wyatt, Jakob, Kensleigh, and Everleigh.

Proverbs 31: 28-31 - Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. 31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte.
